One thing I’ve learned as a second-year special education teacher? Names are a BIG deal! Our students light up when they see their name, recognize it, or even start to write it—it's like unlocking a superpower. So, I created a Name Practice Page that’s become a fan favorite in our classroom!

It’s got five fun, scaffolded sections to meet every learner where they are. Some of my kiddos are just starting out, so we focus on pointing to and saying their name—bonus points if they can spot the first letter! Others are diving into letter ID, matching each letter in their name with a corresponding dot-and-box visual (hello, built-in support!). And for my rockstars who are ready, we trace, we write, we celebrate!
Whether they’re matching, building, or proudly writing their name across the page, every student gets a chance to shine. And honestly? Watching their confidence grow is my favorite part.
